UK. Energy Bill amended with information about FIT for renewable energies

22 October 2008. Today the UK parliament has published amendments to the Energy Bill, which provide more information on the potential feed-in tariff for renewable energies. Ed Miliband, Secretary of State for the Department of Energy and Climate Change in the UK, said last week in a presentation to the House of Lords that he intends to amend the current energy bill that goes before the Houses of Parliament this week.>> read full article and >> Follow David Miliband blog on the topic.
As we understand from the chart above, the feed-in-tariff operating scheme is very innovative: the supplier - and not only the generator - is incentivated to forward the green energy production on customer's site. The higher the generation the higher the reimbursements from the Administration. UK suppliers seem therefore incentivated to deliver comprehensive details and operations support. How different from other countries' FIT schemes (e.g. Italy, Spain), where customers crave for information about PV operations and, once they have it installed, strive to have it connected to the grid by "lazy" suppliers.
